More people die in America as a result of suicide than murder. There are 31,000 homicides versus 19,000 suicides every year. Globally, suicide is the second leading killer of women aged 15 to 44 and the fourth leading killer of men, the number three cause of death for teenagers and the second highest cause for college students.
