This southern city has the dubious distinction of possessing one of the highest crime rates in North America. The FBI headed a counterterrorism network to neutralize any terrorist threats at the 1996 Olympic Summer Games in Atlanta. Then a pipe bomb allegedly planted by a "good ole boy" killed two innocent people and injured nearly 200 other attendees (the suspect was later deemed innocent). The Army of God was busy in Atlanta in 1997, bombing an abortion clinic and a gay disco. In January and February of 1996, there were 29 bomb threats in Atlanta. During the same two months of 1997, there were a whopping 112.
