In March 1999, two Americans and six other foreign tourists were murdered by Hutu rebels while on a gorilla watching tour in Bwindi National Park. Insurgent groups such as the National Army for the Liberation of Uganda (NALU) have made it quite clear that Westerners will be targeted in Uganda. Kidnapping for ransom is only a concept in Africa.
