Over 40 journalists have been murdered in Tajikistan since 1992. CPJ counts only 29. Most of the killings are at the hands of the rebel groups who haven't quite learned how to send pithy and scathing "letters to the editor." There is no censorship of media in the 13 TV stations, 3 radio stations along with 202 newspapers and magazines, there just seems to be a very violent readership.
