The SPLA want to capture or incapacitate the pipeline built by Canadian, Malaysian and Chinese concerns which now provides cash to the northern government. The Canadian wells formerly owned by Arakis (who wanted to hire mercenaries to protect them) pump out 150,000 barrels per day of crude oil.
