Breaking up is not that hard to do in Somalia. Instead of outside forces trying to create a unified nation based on colonial principles, individual regions like Somaliland have simply ignored Mogadishu and gone on with their lives. "Puntland" has been established in the Northeast, and "Hiranland" and "Jubbaland" are being suggested (along the lines of Disneyland with their own separate worlds)? Although the UN poo-poos these microkingdoms, Somaliland has a government, stamps, money, a police force, safe streets, education and healthcare.
