Vladimir Valdimirovich Putin was born in Leningrad on October 7, 1952. He graduated from the Law Department of Leningrad State University (LGU) in 1975, embarking immediately on a career with the first chief directorate (foreign intelligence) of the KGB. To make it short, he is a man with the goods on everyone and somebody who is interested in rebuilding the Russian economy. Putin ran the FSB (the reborn KGB) during the Kosovo conflict in the initial stages of the Dagestan conflict. He may be a WWIII scenario planner's worst nightmare. A spook that answers to no one. A capitalist with an iron fist. His "you want a piece of me?" internal policy would give Stalin a woody. He doesn't even bother deporting thousands of people from the Caucasus. Instead he has a Swanson TV dinner approach to warfare. He just has his citizens chopped up, napalmed, frozen and starved in place and of course served up lovingly on TV as dead terrorists. The truth is much darker, and so Russian. But everyone loves a tough guy.
