Some of the mujahedin leaders have fled to Jalalabad from Peshawar. The Arab mujahedin have ties with fundamentalist Muslims in the United States. Ramzi Ahmed Yussef, a suspect in the bombing of the World Trade Center in New York was trained from 1987 to 1990 in Peshawar camps in the ranks of the Islamic Jihad groups under the orders of Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri.
