Possibly the most lucrative night job in Pakistan. Many dacoits are professional bandits aligned along tribal lines who hold normal day jobs and then head out into the country for a little extra cash at night. Unlike the greasy thugs of Russia or the gold-toothed banditos of Mexico, dacoits are usually bad guys for hire led by educated or civil service level young men. They cannot find employment, so they use their organizing and planning skills to support political parties, back up rebel units, raise operating funds and expand operations areas. Despite the genteel background of the leaders, the actions of their members are bloody and crude. Dacoits will stop buses and trains, rob, rape and murder, and generally create a bloody mess. They also use kidnapping as a way to generate funds and "flip the bird" to the local government. Expect to be a well-treated but powerless pawn, as the dacoits negotiate with the strapped local government (not your fat, rich, home government) for payment for your release. Your biggest problem may be a heavy-handed (but fiscally efficient) rescue attempt staged by the government on your behalf. Stay out of remote tribal areas or areas known for dacoitry.
