North Korea has approximately 1.2 million troops, most of them massed along the border with South Korea. The balance are starving and roaming the streets of famine-struck cities and rural areas with their AKs hitting the "people" up at gunpoint for food and money. Fortunately, for the time being, Jong has their support, as the Dear Leader apparently has no plans to socialize the military, whose elite members enjoy such Western luxuries as Mercedes, Marlboros and mint-flavored Crest. But the military appears to be running out of gas for its 4,000 (whoa!) tanks and 600 combat aircraft. U.S. officials report that the North Korean air force has reduced its training missions near the DMZ by 75 percent.
