Nigeria - Getting Around

Nigeria is primarily dependent on road transportation. During the oil boom in the mid-1970s, a number of long-distance roads were built-but arteries have become dilapidated in recent years due to the civil war and shrinking government revenues. And the accident rate in Nigeria is nearly the worst in the world. There is a nominal railway system, but even this has fallen into disrepair.
