There is little left in Liberia, except for rubber plantations, the rain forest and the iron rusting the ground. The Firestone Company owns the largest rubber plantation in the world, about one million acres that it originally leased for six cents an acre back in 1926. The world's largest rubber estate, about 30 miles east of the capital, is now better known as a former battlefield.
