Founded in 1878, the True Whig Party ran the country until the 1980 coup, after which it was banned. It was revived in 1991. Since then it's pretty much every man or woman for themselves. One only has to look at the credentials of the current leader to see how far democracy has come. As for the true political aspirations of warlords gone straight, hey, you figure it out.
