Iraq - The Scoop

Considering that Baghdad is was once the breadbasket of the ancient world and part of the Fertile Crescent, the boys in Baghdad have done a good job of screwing it up-despite having enough oil to make Saudi Arabia look like a dry sump in Lubbock. Instead of basking in its riches, Iraq is poor, the consequence of Saddam's maniacal insistence on becoming the superpower of the Middle East. The Gulf War was a laughable attempt by Saddam to shun international diplomacy and snatch oil-rich Kuwait. Either Saddam didn't pay attention during history class or he just likes expensive fireworks, because he qualified his country for the Third World Club in a mere three months
