India - The Scoop

India is a relatively safe country with some nasty exceptions. Breathing, driving and hiking can quickly end your life here. Long famous for being one of the dirtiest, most overcrowded countries in the world, travelers now visit the far-flung and scenic regions of Kashmir or the northeast to escape the troubles.

Those who see the traditional sites should be forewarned by the roadside spectacle of mangled buses, lorries and people. India has the most dangerous road system in the world.
