The Harkat-ul-Ansar (HUA) of Pakistan started in central Punjab in Pakistan in the early 1980s under the name the Harkat-ul-Mujahedin (HUM) with headquarters at Raiwind in Punjab.
HUA chief Parvez Ahmad Gazi was popped by Border Security Force troopers in May, as was new HUA head Peer Baba. And Sanaullah's predecessor, HUA Supreme Commander Arif Hussain Sheikh, was whacked in a cross fire between police and separatists on March 17, 1997. HUA is the union of Harakat ul-Jihad and Harakat ul-Mujahedin. The leader is Maulana Saadatullah Khan (until of course he gets popped). HUA is the main recruiter and trainer (with help from the Pakistani Secret Service) of young Kashmiri's and out of work mujahedin from Pakistan. If you are looking for mujahedin time to add to your resume, they will train you for five weeks in the dark arts of light weapons, land mines, booby traps and covert operations and then send you marching over the mountains to raise havoc in Indian-occupied Kashmir. The group is also known for sending eager fighters into Bosnia (all gone home now), Tajikistan (Tajik resistance), Myanmar (training Muslim rebels in the Arakan mountains) and other Muslim holy wars. They have become sort of a Burger King jihad around the world. They also provide much needed medical, food and other relief besides military. And you should know that HUM has banned any U.S. citizens from visiting Kashmir.
