Safari-jacketed, 64-year-old "Tshi-Tshi"--as he is affectionately called--is a former university chancellor and leader of the Union for Democracy and Social Progress. He appears to be the only educated, nonviolent potential leader in Congo, which is probably why he'll do very poorly with Kabila. Tshi-Tshi was democratically elected as prime minister in 1992 and was exiled by Mobutu to his birthplace of Mbuji-Mayi in Kasai Oriental region of Congo after he was booted out of office in 1994. He hopes to run for president if elections are held. Good luck, Tshi-Tshi.
