More than 80,000 civilians have been killed or are missing in the first war. It remains to be seen how many have died in this one. Another 150,000 or so are refugees. Either Russian pilots are bad shots or they feel the odds are better at snuffing unarmed civilians. Markets (bazaars), medical facilities and civilian cars on the roadways-some sites hit multiple times-were the Russians' favorite targets. The Russians like funeral processions, busloads of children and even empty roads. Nobody told them that the rebels move at night and only civilians are desparate enough to move during the day.
