Yeah, you heard that right, if you can hear at all. An increasing amount of Burndians (Hutus and Tutsis) are getting theirs hacked off. Hutu rebels are slicing off the ears of villagers they feel sympathize with the government, both Hutus and Tutsis. As one-eared villager explained after he and 20 others had their ears chopped off by Hutu rebels just east of Bujumbura on April 16, 1998: "The rebels told me, 'If you had ears, you would have listened to what we have been telling you. But you don't listen, so now we are cutting off your ear.' "
