There are only 170,000 Bougainvilleans left on the island. All have some sense of PST from the conflict and all are willing to get past it. They are 19 different languages, hundreds of chiefs and villages but most are related through marriage. Bougainville has also experienced ethnic cleansing by the flight of "rusties," or PNGers, during the conflict.
