Bougainville - Getting Sick

Hey, you're on a tropical island with no sanitation and no doctors. What could go wrong? It might be illuminating to know that of the 80,000 Japanese troops on these islands during World War II, 23,000 were taken prisoner, 20,000 were killed, and a staggering 37,000 died of starvation and disease. Malaria is a major problem. If you need help, there is a tiny clinic in Akampos, but you best get off the island to Gizo for anything more than a Band-Aid.
