The arrival of thousands of NATO troops almost made Albania an honorary member of the alliance. Well, it might have done if the Albanian army had managed to keep any of its weapons after 1997. I jest, but you take the point. Albania's army is, like everything else, shambolic. Now NATO is training-sorry, trying to trainÑthe army. NATO troops were about the only people who were not robbed in Albania. Yes, even the Albanians thought twice about trying to snaffle an Apache.
