Even though these religious students have the Koran down pat, they need to cram Politics for Beginners and Economics 101 if they want to get a degree in Political Correctness. Their down home Pakhtun brand of Islam is a little rough for the more sophisticated northern Tajiks, big-city dwellers, Uzbeks and the rest of the world. Their frontier justice has brought relief from two decades of warfare and oppression, but things are changing for the black-turbaned Talibs. The battle still rages back and forth in the north as Massoud defends his home turf from what he considers to be yet another foreign backed enemy.
